LOVED West Virginia!!!!!!

Dan and I just returned from a week of vacation in West Virginia! Dan's Uncle Dick and Aunt Pam live in Morgantown. I've never been to West Virginia and the first picture captures two things: my excitement and the sweet wristbands Aunt Pam let me borrow. You may be asking yourself: "Why wristbands? Is it super hot in WV? Is she getting ready to workout? Is this some new fashion trend?" Well......it was pretty hot there....I didn't do a lot of running in that "big timber" :)......and I am not starting a new trend. The wristbands actually help with motion sickness....which I MAY have had problems with in the past. They took such good care of us out there in the mountains......Along our sight-seeing trip of WV, we toured one of the smallest churches in the US. It was super cute with only a few pews and cutie little stained-glass windows.

Here is Dan and Dick before we went on a little hike to the Blackwater Falls. They had so much fun together fishing, exploring, and other man stuff us women know nothing about! :)

Sometimes, we aren't okay.

Well done.

There are so many thoughts I have as this school year comes to an end and I have been praying about the right words for all the feels, the frustrations, the relief, the continued anxiety, the pure exhaustion. So in honor of teacher appreciation week—here’s a short letter to all my fellow teachers that have persevered through an unprecedented time in education. ———————————— Dearest Teacher, Spray and wipe, wipe and spray. Defying gravity.

“Where I come from, everyone knows the best way to bring folks together is to give them a common enemy.”—Oz, Wicked the musical   Public education is slowly becoming the common enemy and it is suffocating.  If this seems far fetched from your understanding and perspective, make time to share a space with your friends in education. How are they feeling right now?  Since social media allows us to feel like we can have a personal connection with someone, here is what I would share over a cup coffee if we could be face to face.
