Happy Halloween!!!!

On Thursday night, Mel came over for our annual FALL FUN NIGHT! :) We were really brave this year and did some tricky carving. These are our finished products after hours of carving and sipping cider.


We took these pumpkins over to Grandma Daisy's for the trick-or-treaters on Saturday. Grandma was pretty excited. I handed out candy, while Dan sat in a ground blind out on the farm....waiting for the BIG one. The BIG one did not make an appearance this weekend.....but I have sure been learning a lot about all that goes into the GREAT hunt. Did you know that this man wears deer pee on his shoes just to attract deer?!?!? Wow....I think I will stick to jewelry..... :) Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

    lol. tell me about it...who knew deer hunting was so intense?! and, i'm SO impressed by your carving! way to go. we need some lessons around here :) love you guys!

    I'll give Leah her first lesson. DO WHATEVER DAN SUGGESTS. and DON'T USE A MARKER THAT'S NOT PERMANENT or you'll end up with a seriously derranged "o".

Well done.

There are so many thoughts I have as this school year comes to an end and I have been praying about the right words for all the feels, the frustrations, the relief, the continued anxiety, the pure exhaustion. Defying gravity.

“Where I come from, everyone knows the best way to bring folks together is to give them a common enemy.”—Oz, Wicked the musical   Public education is slowly becoming the common enemy and it is suffocating.  If this seems far fetched from your understanding and perspective, make time to share a space with your friends in education.
